Note: If you had the original InterKalactic mod, this is separate andNOTcompatible. This is a separate planet pack entirely, the original has been discontinued.

InterKalactic 2 is a remake of InterKalactic; many of the bodies from the original pack are used, but now, there's some story and uniqueness behind InterKalactic 2. IK2 is based off of the premise that Kerbol is expanding into a red giant, wreaking havoc on the planets and providing several new challenges for you. I'm aware that in real lifethese events would take billions of years, but for the sake of this planet pack, we're pretending that these events all happen within a much shorter time frame.

The New (and old) planets

Kerbol (The Sun)

Kerbol is now many times larger and brighter than before. In addition, it has acquired a reddish hue.

Moho

Moho is slowly being pulled into the Sun, and as such, it is extremely close to the Sun with a pretty eccentric orbit. In turn, any trip to Moho must be well timed; Each time that Moho isclose to itsperiapsis, the scorching temperature will easily be able to incinerate anything you send there. This will prevent you from creating any long term outposts here in the future, but provides a new kind of challenge for your Kerbals.

Gilly

After being flung through the Kerbol system, Gilly has found home orbiting close Moho.

Eve

Eve has suffered a similar fate as Moho, however its entire orbital path remains safe for long term bases and whatnot. Eve does not host any moons.

Kerbin

Kerbin has been more or less spared by Kerbol. Thanks to the pull of Jool and Kerbin's original vicinity from the sun, the Kerbals' home world has been spiraling outward steadily. While sparing Kerbin from the worst of it, the planet still mayexperienceoccasional temperature swings as a result of its increasingly eccentric orbit which wreak havoc on the environment.

Mun

The Mun's orbit is now slightly elongated and inclinated. This is more of just a fix for how some bodies in the Kerbol system have unnaturally smooth orbits.

Minmus

The orbit of Minmus is now also slightly elongated.

Duna

Duna has been pushed outwards from the Sun like Kerbin. The Dunian system remains mostly unaffected by the expanding sun otherwise.

Oogaloo

This funnily named moon orbits in between Duna and Ike. It is extremely small, just slightly bigger than Gilly.

Ike

Ike remains unchanged in this pack.

Dres

Jool

Enter Jool, the Kerbol Systems planet scooper. Ever since the orbit of the planets became unstable, Jool has scooped up several of the planets into its pull.
